How is the first player each round decided?

Post by Barberserk »

I am still unsure about this, it probably rotates around the table, but perhaps I am wrong. How do we know who will start the next round, when a round has finished?

Official rules say pick a dealer for the first round, then it moves to the left. BGA probably assigns at random the first round?

I can't believe this information can't be found in the Rules section here, even the Tutorial doesn't mention it. It feels like something so basic, and yet... And it can absolutely affect game results, so, it's not unimportant.

I’m not sure what you are looking for. The rules absolutely say the role of Dealer passes around the table to the left, and BGA’s implementation handles this by passing first player around the players (in the order you see the player panels), since nobody is actually dealing.

I think an indicator of whose' turn is to playe first each round would be helpful, right now there isn't one, right? I would like to know who is starting the next round at a glance, especially towards the end of the game, it matters more.

That seems fair. In real life one player would be the dealer and the person on their left would be first. Next round that formerly first player would be the dealer, etc. You’d always know who would be first next round or the round after etc.

You should make a suggestion in the game’s bug reports.
