Expell Timer is a joke

A question both for admins and other players:

I just got kicked out of a game due to my time running out during the break animations, I went over with 2 seconds on my turn, then the other guy triggered a break and subsequently kicked me during the animations.

1. Is there a way to disable break animations to save that time?
2. Is this something new?
I know that if I'm trying to kick someone out it won't allow me to do it immediately, I have to wait 20 seconds and it's disabled during the break animations.

Maybe it's a "Premium" feature...

I have over a 1000 games in arknova, and usually don't take it too seriously as I'm often playing in between sets in the gym, but I noticed a difference since I've been sick and at home playing on my desktop for the last few games against 400-600 rank players so it sucks to get a loss during the break animations.

I play a lot of draft and write records and the animations are soooo long. I know in that game if you refresh your browser it skips the animations and takes you directly to whatever move is queued up.

1. No, you can't remove animation atm, but you can always just refresh to get the current status if you really think it's too long.
2. No, it has always been like this.
Animations are never pausing the timer, but keep in mind that the timer running is the one corresponding to the new player active so if a lot of automatic stuff happens it's not always obvious to know who will be active in advance.

Preplan your moves. There's no reason why you can't get all your moves done within the time limit given you've thought ahead about what your next moves are.

With apology, not true.
I've just been expelled from an ark nova game, because I noticed I had made a small mistake in calculation(I wanted to play an animal which required 3 reptiles already in my zoo, I only had two) and restarted my turn.
I hadn't passed the clock by even a minute before I was expelled.
Sorry for having to say this, but 60 seconds to wait is usually not the end of the world.
The clock also doesn't reset from turn to turn, to if I spent a lot of time on my last turn, I will have much less time the next turn.
I think there should be a branding for ones who expell other players often as well as for expelled, for bad sportsmanship.

60s is not the end of the world, but it's a minute on top of 3 minutes you already had to play your turn. If you're over a minute over, you probably played your previous turns very slowly too, so that's probably the reason you got booted.

People have complained about this for ages. Being kicked when you are winning, especially on the last turn, is an experience lots of players have had. It means they stop playing certain games. It means they don't participate in Arena and Tournaments. It means that when time comes to renew premium, they will think about it more. It has only negative effects on the player base.

Obviously something needs to be done.

Exactly - well said. It's super bad sportsmanship and those that do it know what they are doing and why!

this complaint is a joke. you get time added every turn. most turns when you restart you should have 3 min (in fast) or more in other modes. the fact that people slow play or do other things between their turns and then complain is ridiculous. if you join a game then play it. don't presume your time is more valuable than your opponent.
