Why do people hate nitro?

Post by Toroga »

For the last few months, the majority of the tables I see all have the No Nitro option, and I can't understand why people would choose that.

Nitro is the only way to increase a roll in order to mitigate the randomness of the dice, and allows you to mulligan one critical roll where coming up short on a turn would take you out of the race. Without it you can only adjust rolls downwards, and the game becomes more of a die rolling contest.

I also see a lot of people choosing No Construction, which similarly removes the ability to prioritize resources to fit the track being used.

I like Nitro. I’d say 50% of the tables I’m joining have it on.
I don’t know what Construction is.

I would say that Nitro can be perceived as an easy way (too easy) to compensate for bad planning while racing.
You can make decent laps on any circuit without nitro if you're using your car optimally.

Construction let's you change how WP are allocated per category. You get a set number of WP to distribute. So if you like racing with more tire WP, you can lower something like body or engine to put more points into tires.
