Filter by Karma Level required

Post by digismo »

you have several filters to search for tournament that fit for you.
It would be great to have an additional filter, to oanly show tournaments that require a certain level of karma.

It wouldn't be useful unless the karma system becomes more meaningful. Someone can sign up to 200 games, time-out of them all and quit them unfinished, and then just spend an hour playing real-time games of Can't Stop / Martian Dice / Lucky Numbers until their karma is back to 100% again. I'd rather see a system implemented where if a player times-out of 3 tournament games in a row, then they're automatically withdrawn from the rest of the tournament.

Yeah, if you are the type to worry about people leaving games during tournaments (like I am), you are gonna worry no matter what their karma level is.

I mean, someone's karma being at 100 doesn't give you any sort of guarantee that they might not pull something on you.

Because unless the rules of the game specify what to do in the case a player leaves, doing so would be basically rewriting the game, allowing use cases that were not intended by the developers.

Games may also start being unbalanced and not working as intended once a player leaves. You'd have to look at every game individually and make a decision based on what feels most right to you. So here again you would be taking the game away from the original author, becoming a sort of second author of the game yourself. And as you may know, the French hold on very dearly to auteur theory, haha.
