Obversations about kalah on BGA

Post by Exotic Dreams »

First off, I made elite league for this game for the season after failing to obtain it before, yay...Anyhow moving right along.
So I've noticed this game seems to have a relatively small pool of dedicated players that mostly seem to be from the same region of the world.
Is this a cultural issue maybe?. Is kalah more popular in some other parts of the world than the northeast USA where I'm from?.

The person who first formulated the modern rules of the game Kalah was Irving Finkel.

Although traditional versions of the game (Mancala) have existed for centuries, it was Finkel who, in the 1960s–1970s, codified the standardized rules of Kalah for commercial publication.

Also I found out today doing a trivia that this might be the oldest known board game?. Very cool.
