Hello,
I tend to always play the same few games over and over, because they are well-known and thus, it's easy to find players. But I am sure there are a lot of very good games on there that I don't even know of... What are the games you wish more people would play ?
For instance, I would like to see more people playing Abyss or Umbrella
A lot of the no luck abstracts, like Boop, would be games I wish were more popular. They have a high skill ceiling, understated due to low player counts not letting them really rack it up, though even then you'll see players creeping up to some high numbers. It's probably due to the audience for high skill games of that nature already taken by many high-quality competitors. Games like Chess, Go, etc. are on a whole different league of popularity that even the most popular games on BGA can't touch, and have their own separate sites for. So the audience for things like Boop are already being pulled away from there.

I personnally don't get why Azul is so high on the charts
Azul is a popular game due to being very interactive and high skill. 2 player Azul allows for a lot of disruption and players having to respect their opponent's options in order to pull ahead and win.

On the contrary, what are the popular games you don't understand what the fuss is about ?
I'm not a big fan of games like Lucky Numbers and Can't Stop due to their low skill, they're comparatively mindless games when looking at the ones previously mentioned. There's some skill sure, but it's much lower and luck plays a far larger role. Though I understand why they're popular. That they don't require much thought to do well in doesn't mean they're bad games, in fact the relative mindless nature of it is part of its wide appeal. There are times I am playing and don't really want to put much effort/thought into anything.
So I guess it's not a matter of me not understanding why they're popular, it's just a difference in taste. The people that like it are just after something different than I usually am, which is fine. When I say those games are relatively mindless and not much skill is required it's not an insult, the traits that pull me away from it are part of the very thing drawing people into it. Some traits that would be bad for one game are actually critical for another. Every game has its own target audience, and sometimes you're currently not the kind of person a game is trying to draw in.
