Removing conventions from the help page

Post by Sammy McSam »

A user new to conventions with a fresh perspective completely reworked the help and tips pages.
The reworked help page is overall well articulated and remains concise.
The reworked tips page needs more thought. Currently there is too much content to be rendered.

The main change is moving convention explanations from help to tips.
The sections 'Chat' and 'ELO rating' have been removed.

I think the new help page is better for beginners. Do you agree and if so what would you put on the tips page?

Tips: Skip: Additional Information section is really odd, and is never played like that in my experience.
This section should be removed as a potential bad habit for newbies.

This skip advice is really poor, I agree Malo. It's one of the hardest things to fix after someone gets the idea that "skip = play". It hamstrings the team from collaboratively managing discards, and it makes stall techniques harder (like double discard avoidance).

Or, at the very least, "has something better to do" should include "discard", meaning it's not really possible to make inferences (aside from GTP) from being skipped.

Edit: I agree that removing the conventions from the help page is ideal, nice work.
