I am in the camp of if i already got one of the top cards in the game i am going to take that rather than draw, because you draw to try to get cards like earth cat.

Earth Cat is clearly one of the strongest cards in the game. Great in virtually every early game, most mid games and, even a fair amount of late games. It just annoys top players to see people ranked lower than them complain. This may blow some of your minds, but yes, an 100 elo player can have legitimate critiques of a board game.
Obviously there are other things we can do to improve our play, but that is irrelevant to the point. In a rebalancing project EC would be one of the first cards I look at, but personally I enjoy the game as is. Having strong and weak cards (aka more and less situational cards) makes it more interesting. And with enough luck it gives me a chance against anyone.

An 100 Elo player can have legit critics like the design is awful, the price is too high or the rules are not written in a good fashion.

He has no position to discuss balancing because if he knew deeper strategy he would not be at 100 Elo.

Generation Snowflake needs to learn that not every opinion has the same weight. My opinion towards many games is a non existing factor. If a friend and me share an opinion about chess and Carlsen opposes it, we still don't just have a majority and are therefore right. Imagine me saying there "blowing your mind Magnus, hugh???"

I can mostly agree with Primrose on this one.

100 Elo player can give their advice about strategic elements of Earth or Aquatica, but if their advice/opinions differ from mine, I'm confident in saying they are wrong.

It was Point Luna out of all things received the most impactful rebalance in some community, Mars U for Earth tags. Earth Cat and AI Central stayed the same, those two cards always have the most interesting match ups when they go heads up in natural orders.

My mean look at this granted it's a weak competition but the man got AI Central mars u Olympus media group viral Enhancers, restricted development center birds oh of course advanced alloy, you name it he got it with 57+ MC prod and mineral goes for days. It meant nada when my earth cat just made me so rich, 12 gens won by 30. Cant touch that when the earth cat overlord is here and yeah i was the lowly phoblog: https://boardgamearena.com/17/terraform ... =857432978

I am 500 elo now you want me to go 800 and make a point? Earth cat is da king of all kings. You can't beat math.

Flexing a game against 200elo is mad. I’ll provide you with a counterexample:

Opponent (570elo) w/ PointLuna/EarthOffice/EarthCat/BusinessNetwork/Olympus/Psychro/Nuclear followed by Viral/Kelp/MassConv/ArcticAlgae(0 oceans)/Agt. Loses by 20+vps.

It's gen4 you have one science tag, and one more in hand but perfect mineral prod level, you got advanced alloy and AI to choose in the draft while your opponent is Valley with one science tag; you have more mineral prod coming while they also have a good mineral production. Would you take AI or Adv alloy? Imported Hydrogen will come back. You are losing on all milestones, it's immediate 15 MC swing but compounds for the rest of the game of course.

What if it's between adv alloy, AI, Hydrogen, or earth cat? What would you take and why? Assuming none comes back, since if it's 2p you take earth cat when AI or alloy will be back.

P.S. 570 or 250 elo makes no difference, they are not a threat, we play those games against ourselves and the board. If we dont 93% 600s playing engine we suck right? They all free.
