My account treats a tournament as if it never finished

Post by tbhp »

So the other day while I was taking a nap I noticed a trophy notification pop up, like it does when a tournament you've been in just finished.

Later I wake up and notice my internet is down, so I have to reload the site. I look for the trophy I just earned, but it's nowhere to be found. Strange, I think. Was it a dream?

I go to the tournament page, and to my surprise the site shows it as still ongoing, no results page and the last game listed is the semi final. But when I click on the final game, it shows a completed game, with a winner and all.

So basically the tournament is over, I even ask the other participants in the chat and they confirm that it is, but my whole account acts as if it's not. When I go to the trophies pages of the other players, it doesn't show any trophy for the tournament in question (but I suppose on their end it does).

How is this possible? I don't know if this is the right place to report what seems to be a bug, but I don't want to bother the site when I could just ask here where maybe someone might know why this happened.

You didn't provide any links to the tournament, so after checking several of them, it looks like you might be referring to this game.

If you click on the tab that says game results, there is a message that says:
Recording game results + computing statistics in progress...
It seems to be stuck at that point, so something has probably gone wrong. Maybe contact support.

Yeah, that's the game.

So the issue is not just on my end. But then why did the other participants say nothing is wrong on their end. This is very confusing.

Why don't people provide links to what they want others to troubleshoot?

There seems to be some trouble with the BGA backend at the moment. I have the same thing in one game of one of my tournaments.

I made a bug report: https://boardgamearena.com/bug?id=223114

Wow, that seems very problematic.

So it's not all on my end, after all. Now I wonder if the other players in my tournament even received a trophy for it (the people who replied to me were not semi finalists, so they may not have realized the problem).
