You could always try and get people in the evening to have a quick game of something on your phones.

I guess either you do want to support the site and subscribe or you don't. I suspect free access for up to 3 days is unlikely to change your mind on that. However, it is the sort of thing Sony does but everyone has to pay for online gaming to multiplay with that service - whereas BGA only require you to have one subscriber to initiate games, so I think it's not the same.

Happy to pay, happy there is a Game Fest, not bothered about whether I get a badge or not but, yeah, keep playing and having fun.

Great idea! Thank you BGA! I’ve been able to try so many more games, and have purchased hard copies of my favorites.
I discovered BGA during 2020 and it was key for keeping in touch with friends.

Join & finish within 3 days (5-7 June) in practice means live only, not turn-based. Since I only play turn-based, no trophy for me . But seriously, is anyone really getting excited about a digital trophy from BGA?

In case anyone misinterprets this, I like BGA, and I appreciate that a lot of hard work goes into running it. I'm a premium member, I consider it very good value for money, and I don't let the occasional glitch bother me. But this is IMO a pretty feeble attempt at generating interest/engagement.

There are lots of games that have solo modes. You could play one of them.

As a paid member for 3+ years - I love this idea! It may be just the taste some need to upgrade and pay too!
