We need the authorization from the owner of Bang or from the admins of BGA for add this expansion or there are any other obstacles for know something more? I think you should also put a banner in every game people play with bang for show them there is the concrete possibility to add dodge city (not all people look this forum)
When I posted this, I was expecting a significant number of replies. There's just 50 replies after more than a year with approximately 30 people saying they are in. I was thinking this number would be much higher to be honest. Second, I am struggling to get a positive answer from the Bang! publisher. They kind of fine with having the Dodge City but it mostly looks like "do what you want, we don't care". BGA admins are mostly feeling the same, they are not quite interested and I still don't have a direct answer if they will allow any promotion in any of their channels if the crowdfunuding would start. I will ask again though as I can see some of you are waiting. Unfortunately the number of those who are actively waiting are limited to less than 10 people (from what I see). Sorry, but I don't really see this as a successful crowdfunding in the end considering everything I mentioned :(
If there will be understandable channels of promoting this crowdfunding campaign and a solid support from the Bang! players community - I could try. But as for now - it's not worth it :(

If I'd be down to implement the expansion for free, would that be a solution then? Based on your reply to me it feels like they don't prohibit the expansion, just don't want to spend on it.

This is just because lot of people doens't look the forum and probably neither know the forum exist... In the past, i also realised there was a forum here after very lot of time after...
An important news (just like the implementation of the new expansion) should appear like a banner in every game of bang and also in the main page of bang on BGA.
Then, some time ago i contacted the owner of Bang and i asked about dodge city for have it on bga and he said he is trying to "convince" also to "owners" of bga for implement dodge city but it depends on how much people show interest on bga, he said...
Then, it's very strange that the admins aren't interested to implement an expansion of a game in their webiste, epxecially because it would be created with OUR money. And i repeat, with OUR money...
BANG is a game with lot of expansions, and we have only the 2.
So, i think we should make a step ahead. You should say for example how much money you would need for create dodge city in a reasonable time, and this money will be divided and paid by all the people would accept for it. I make an example. Picture this: you say you need 300$ for create dodge city in 2 months. And we say that this money will be divided if there will be at least 30 people who would agree for that... Let's say 40 people accept for it at the end of this campaign.. So, 300$ will be divided by the 40 people. So each people will pay 7,5$. And you receive this money like having a job and you willl create dodge city.
In this way, i don't care if i paid money for an expansion and 99% of people could use it for free. But at least we can improve the quality of the experience here on BGA playing at bang...
This website has lot of problems. If the owners don't want to pay for add an expansion, they should improve at least the quality and the security of this website because there are lot of cheaters... And it seems they don't want to solve this big problem, despite lot of players asked for solve it

This thread has been going on for a while so you may have forgot or missed it (I forgot also) but I asked Kuwizard what price he was aiming for and he responded on 1st page.

I agree with you that his price is reachable. He is basing it off of only comments in this thread but as mentioned probably like 1% of users even visit the forums and even less visit the subforums. The issue isn’t if the project can be funded or is it wanted because I believe that both of those answers are yes. The issue is reaching the players to make them aware of the project. But honestly it’s a shame that it even relies on the players to fund it because dodge city expansion would most likely be premium and the publisher would recoup revenue off of every dodge city game played. Although I will admit that I have no knowledge of how much these publishers actually make in profits on this site. Considering bang averages 600,000 games a yr I would assume a couple thousand dollars is recoupable.

As for the cheating problem there are too many issues. Games like bang will always have problems as is because it is 6p games and it is so easy to cheat. The only way to combat that problem would be to make it harder for accounts to be eligible to play in arena. Which I highly doubt bga will entertain.

That's not a bad idea actually, there is a mechanism of showing banners to players! Thanks!
NIKMON wrote: 03 June 2026, 16:03 and also in the main page of bang on BGA.
Well, there is no "main page" for a game. Yes, the last message from the players group appears on the game page but 20% of players read it. You won't believe how many people just ignore it completely (I had this experience in another game)

That's true unfortunately...

Let's say this is the main page: https://boardgamearena.com/gamepanel?game=bang
In both situations (in the main page and in every single game played) there should be a BIG banner

Oh, i didn't read about the money. Sorry.. Well, let'sa say if 4000$ is the amount of money, we should arrive to at least 400 players for pay a reasonable and not much high amount of money..

Maybe with the money from the premium. By the way, for now there isn't any reason to buy the premium.. I would pay for the premium for something really important, just like for have no cheaters who ruins the game..

The solution would be to let play only verified acocunts, with phne number for example and associated with a documents. And you can't associate more than one account to your docuemnt... It would be really easy..

That was one of the options I considered and this is a unique situation actually. Usually publishers and/or BGA are more interested. However I still believe other options are possible. I'll speak with BGA admins about options. But I cannot promise anything. I am pretty busy with some other projects at the moment.
Thanks for pinging me here. I am still very much in doubt if I want it to do personally, it takes a lot of energy and effort to move that forward. Doing games for publishers/game designers who do actively want their games on BGA is much more exciting to be honest.
If you all could contact dV Games on their public Contacts channels - that would probably make them more active about Bang? Otherwise I feel like banging (pun intended) on closed doors with my head.
