Minefield is a connection game, like Hex. You have to form a path of your stones connecting the two opposite edges of your color. But unlike Hex, Minefield is played on a square grid.
Minefield uses a "prohibited glyphs" mechanism to prevent deadlocks. There are three small patterns of stones that you must never form.
Minefield gets its name from the "minefield" of illegal placements that would form one of the three prohibited glyphs. Minefield a serious, tense game.
