For a lot of people, myself included, if I go to the bga twitter page the last post I see is from 2023 which made me think for a while that they just didn't post updates at all

Same here. It shows that Ark Nova is now available on BGA which has been the case for...a while. :D

I, unpaid volunteer, am reporting bug, and I don't know what causes it, and to who it should be addressed, game or BGA developer.
Sure all could be addressed to BGA staff, and they would be deciding is that a page or game one. But I guess then no alpha games would me made at all. Because before game bug would get to game developer it would take years.

And I would also prefer that there were no bugs at all, or that bugs would be reported automatic or by magical AI. But I don't see that possible.
What do alpha games have to do with this topic? During the alpha phase of a game, if the game is not coded properly, causing rules errors or scoring errors and such, yes, those should be reported to the developer(s) for that game.

So, I'm not saying all bugs should be sent to BGA staff. But when the servers are down, there is no reason to have countless bug reports being sent to the developers of established games. There is no reason to have bug reports at all. Freeze all game timers until the site problems are resolved. And make clear instructions for people NOT to report such issues to the game developers.

Nothing is accomplished by allowing "bug" reports of "Hey, the servers are down!" being sent to the developers for a specific game.

With that I totally agree. And partially it is done. I visit bug report often, and I see that new reports are blocked while server crashes. At least new reports from page. Maybe BGA staff "missed" one reporting directly from game page. And this is also another proof on BGA poor communication. While you are in game you don't see info about server crash, so you don't know what causes your bug.

PS: Rules bug are not only alpha games problems. There are still rules bugs in games that was released years ago.
