Since you refuse to accept that you expelled SarahDG307, have you submitted a bug report?
Can anyone explain what happened? Player expelled, but when and by whom?

This is a bizarre comment, since you're implying that if only we accept that I expelled that player, that would all of this make sense and there would be no bug. I already explained in detail why that's not true. What I observed and described does not make sense regardless of who expelled that player.Meeplelowda wrote: ↑07 June 2026, 20:32 Since you refuse to accept that you expelled SarahDG307 [...]
Not quite yet. I'm still looking for people who have read and understood what I described (that is, not you, apparently) to give any alternate explanations of what this might have been. If nobody can come up with a plausible explanation, I will eventually file a bug based on what I've thought of so far, but it's possible someone else with bring up something I haven't thought of that makes sense or that might point to a different bug.

This is a bizarre interpretation because it relies on the premise that you DIDN'T expel SarahDG307. If you didn't and the log says you did, then that is a bug. Seems pretty straightforward.Cos- wrote: ↑10 June 2026, 21:51This is a bizarre comment, since you're implying that if only we accept that I expelled that player, that would all of this make sense and there would be no bug. As for the rest of your snide comment, it remains a fact that the log says you expelled SarahDG307 regardless of what anyone else says, so what more are you looking for? Also, if you don't believe the log is accurate about you expelling SarahDG307, why should you believe it's accurate about anything else that happened after that point?

Can you clarify this part? From looking at the replay things do seem to make sense, at least to me, if you had kicked the player.
Yellow was already 17 hours in the red on the 28th April
The log says that you skipped their turn on the 29th April
The -7 days later in the log is a little odd, I'm not sure if the game stayed "stuck" on that players turn (a bug I have seen before in different games: https://boardgamearena.com/bug?id=97380) or if the player rejoined and then continued to not play.

I'm wondering about that - I was expelled from a Space Base game for not playing fast enough. No warning, no chance to comment - just BOOM! A 10% reputation hit. How do I send an apology to the others? I don't know who initiated it.
What games have expectations of quick (essentially. live) play?

In any game, the other players likely expect people to make their moves without going into negative clock.

Re: Can anyone explain what happened? Player expelled, but when and by whom?
There are broadly two types of games on BGA (excluding tournaments which are a special case). In turn-based games, you get a minimum of 30 minutes added to your clock every time it's your turn, and in the slowest setting 2 days are added.
If you aren't playing one of those, then you are playing something that is explicitly called "real-time" in the interface when you join it. So the expectation is that you are playing in....real time. There will be just a few minutes on your clock, and the expectation is that you are going to be making moves quickly enough that those few minutes will not expire.
Some individuals may be strict and other lax about enforcing it, but you should not join a game with expectation that you can ignore the clock, unless it's in friendly mode where there is no clock. It's not game dependent. It's person dependent, and you can't know ahead of time whether the players at your table will be strict, so you should never have the attitude that you can take as much time as you want with no consequences.
Also, just because turn-based games are much slower doesn't mean you get to completely ignore the clock in those either.

If your clock was negative, you probably got a red icon/message in your panel and a mail (if you didn't disable it) saying that it's your turn and you have to play. That should be warning enough. In real-time games there's and additional 20-second grace period.
Go to your game history, find the game in question, send a message to the other players. How do I send an apology to the others?
I do, but I'm not telling. You can find it in the game log.I don't know who initiated it.
Any game that's real-time expects "live" play. Any game that's turn-based expects play within its stated time per turn. This particular game was 2 moves per day, so it expected you to take no more than 12 hours per turn. You took more, much more. You used up your whole 36 hour time bank and then stayed in negative time for almost two days. The other 4 players managed to make their moves in time. What games have expectations of quick (essentially. live) play?

If you find 2 moves per day too fast, don't join games with that speed or faster.
Re: Can anyone explain what happened? Player expelled, but when and by whom?
Games give you a timer that tells you the expectation. You played multiple turns hours over time before finally being kicked.Yuglooc wrote: ↑13 June 2026, 01:44 I'm wondering about that - I was expelled from a Space Base game for not playing fast enough. But that's exactly it. Whoever skipped their turn back in April, whether it was me or the other player (most likely the other player), why would the game basically "freeze" for the other two of us for another week while Sarah's clock kept on running, until it hit -7 days and _then_ the other player got to move? It seems to me that the log is wrong about what date they got expelled. Can you think of another explanation that makes sense?JimBut wrote: ↑11 June 2026, 08:16Can you clarify this part? Also, what about the coincidence that the amount of time remaining on the red player's clock when it became my turn again, matches up with them having a full clock that morning and expelling Sarah a little bit earlier before they moved? If the game log got the date and time wrong (by nearly a week), it all adds up, so based on the lack of other good explanations on this post so far, I think that's what happened.
