remove changer option

Post by udongirl »

Starting this season, Trainer Card options have been added, but CHANGER is an absolutely insane card. Simply picking this card almost guarantees victory in that game. CHANGER has various uses, but I'll highlight the elements that are particularly game-breaking.
・First, the strategy of recycling Final Exam. Final Exam is already a top-tier card without CHANGER, but CHANGER eliminates even its rare drawback of being prone to accidents. Even if you only manage to get one copy of Final Exam, recycling it just once can end the game, making it extremely difficult for your opponent to win even by accident if your deck isn't performing well.
・Wind-Up Car is also a ridiculous partner. A single copy can turn CHANGER's drawback into an advantage. Countless games have been won simply by recycling Wind-Up Car.
• Early game? Just recycle Champion and win. The early trophies give you ample pick flexibility.

Beyond these broken elements, there are tons of synergistic cards like Board Game Collector, Kid, and Impostor. Even if you unluckily fail a broken combo, victory remains within reach.

In conclusion, Changer is clearly too powerful and versatile compared to other Trainers. While banning specific Trainer cards is not officially anticipated, considering the precedent of banning Wood Duck in Wingspan, it cannot be said to be impossible. Therefore, at this time, I would like to propose banning Changer at this time

I wholeheartedly agree and support this cause.

Just to add: any combo-reliant deck is essentially guaranteed to hit its combo (Dwarfs, Swimmer, etc.), and any non-combo deck can reliably recycle its overpowered cards (Sandstone, etc.).

I agree. Changer is overpowered.

This is a luck game. Don't think it's overwhelming op
Should just disable the whole trainer thing at arena mode. Leave this funny thing to regular mode

I won't deny that you dislike trainers, but I like them. I believe only changers disrupt the balance, and if they were gone, the balance would be good—that's why I want changers gone.

Agree, it's the only unbalaced trainer card

that’s funny, i feel like changer gives such a handicap by taking your first bench seat. personally i avoid it. i wish it let you put a card under your deck or on your discard instead so that first seat doesn’t gunk up the works

Hi! I'm just jumping in here to boost this thread again. I agree with OP's opinion regarding the Changer. At least in Arena is should be banned.

Another precedent is Agricola, which has a list of banned cards that players can opt in/out in Play Mode and which area always left out of Arena games.

I wonder if the gurus are considering it?
