Can't progress through tutorial - craftsmanship actio

Post by Willakhstan »

I know the tutorial notes a few bugs but I've tried a few times to get past the step where you use the craftsmanship action in the village but no matter what I do it tells me to take the action indicated, even though that's what I'm doing. I've followed the steps exactly for previous actions but it's like I'm missing something obvious and it's getting a bit frustrating.

I know I could just read the rules but I guess I just want to finish what I started. Anyone got any thoughts?

it's the same for me.

The bits you're missing:
So you have the indian actions on the board. The indian is now gone from your control. The next person to play the interpreter will scoop all of them up for their own use.

The recruit action, spend fur(place 1-5) and equipment(strength of card) to immediately get the card.

As a tip recruit and build first which means getting fur and equipment. Strength 3's are always good. Build a boat if required. You may even move backwards a couple of steps first round, or a 1 food move with commander is fine. Then when you have a reasonable setup you can concentrate on moving. Avoid converting to horses if possible, one less unwanted step. Indian actions are pretty lame too. Ideally you're looking for a round cycle of gather, then move, gather then move - that would be 8 people. 10 is also good, recruit with overwrite is also acceptable. Always think to recruit if necessary, and possibly to simply deny opponents. The good cards in the recruit row should be your main focus in the first half of the game.
