Three mermaids - is it normal or a terrible mistake?

Post by RedBidon »

The game just leads to the victory of a player who plays poorly and does not give a chance to a strong player.

This has happened many times, but this time it was caused by at least 7 random events. I was confidently leading the game throughout, despite the buffs for my opponent and the nerfs on me. However, at a score of 39-7(!!!), the game introduced the three mermaids rule. After that, the game simply led my opponent to victory, leaving me with no chance. I stole cards twice, but I never drew a mermaid (haha).

This should not be the case. It is simply a gift to weak players. This rule should be removed, as it disrupts the game and undermines the balance.

This is a card from the extra pepper expansion. You can play without the expansion if you feel it's unbalanced :)

extra pepper - a great addition. All the cards help or complicate the round, and the three mermaids simply give victory without looking back at the skill and strength of the players.

A truly strong player always takes into account the possibility that their opponent can win with mermaids, both with four mermaids and with three. Depending on how many mermaids they have in hand, how many cards are left in the deck, which of the opponent’s cards are known, and so on, a truly strong player decides whether to keep playing, stop the round, or take the risk.
