OK... Mills strategy is really broken and easy way to win this game.

I've lost going for Mills and have also won without taking any.

Since mills are the second lowest type, they often are second or first to pick next turn, its not rare someone can pick 3 in a row with almost no way to block them except maybe a tower to reserve it. In 5 player games, I feel its devestating. When I play IRL, I tend to use the homebrew variant where army and mills only affect your neighbours, which limits their power to what it would be in a 3 players game.

I agree. I've also found that the disparity grows with the number of players. In two- and three-player games, you can still counter a player who invests in mills, but with more players that becomes nearly impossible.
