Fix the ELO changes! BGA spent time and effort to introduce changes to ELO which actively made the whole system worse, then ignored the 1000+ comments asking for change FOR YEARS NOW. Users even carried out the proper analysis BGA never did, and described the correct way to implement changes, e.g. spelling out BGA's job.

They kinda fixed it now that all of the game forums show now regardless of whether you've played the game or not :D

I would like that BGA shows us what their 'roadmap' is. Do they have any goals what they want with this platform? It seems like they just push random updates once in a while (mostly updates nobody really asks for). What are their plans and priorities?

I doubt this will ever be a priority because there are only two suffixes designating all ordinal numbers in French (you can quibble about the whether -er and -re for the masculine and feminine version of -st is really the same), so they probably think it's perplexing and/or silly that English has four different ones.
I mean, when you translate things to a different language, you are supposed to give the correct translation, not the one you think sounds less silly.

With that said, the fact that English numbers periodically go back to "st" even though it's not the first number anymore can seem silly even to native English speakers. I'm sure I've read things like "21th century" before. So it may be a point of contention even in the English speaking world, in which case it makes sense French speakers would pick the side they agree with.

This would be amazing. I had a recent bug that amassed 26 duplicate reports in just a few days. It took longer to close those reports than to fix the bug. Older, more established games have very few errors, but plenty of players who misunderstand rules. It would be great if they could see other reports already closed as "not a bug" with the same topic.

The latest updates BGA made try to do this, it looks like. After you type your short description for a bug, it shows similar reports including "not a bug":

And if you are just looking at the bug list for a game, there is a search field that also pulls up "not a bug" reports.

Perhaps I am misunderstanding what is still missing?

It's been a while since I've filed a (duplicate) bug, so I can't speak for what the current state of filing reports looks like. All I know is 26 duplicate reports is craaazy. Alpha testers should know not to do that to begin with and the system should have shown the original reports and 25 duplicates when that last guy filed.

Somewhere, there's a breakdown that's costing developers a lot of time.

I agree, but since I tested both creating a report from the hamburger menu, and from the community menu, and both pull up similar reports, I suspect the breakdown may involve players not searching / reading the list.

I think BGA made a recent change about closing duplicate bugs that also lets you mass-close duplicates, so they were trying to improve the process.

Let's say the bug involves Gaia Project, and I start creating a report with the word "start" in the title. I see this:

However, I do notice two things that may make it harder for this search to work:
1. If you use slightly different wording, you might not see the duplicates.
2. If a duplicate has identical wording, but was downvoted to negative, it does not show up in the results at all.

This leads to an odd situation where the developer is motivated NOT to downvote duplicates. If they do, it seems to prevent players from seeing them, possibly leading to a new duplicate.

In this case, it was "gaiaprojectthelostfleet" (an alpha game that's separate from Gaia Project). The wording on many/most reports was very, very similar. If the alpha testers had made the slightest effort to check first, they would have seen the duplicates. Even if they didn't search, they'd still see them because most of that front page was duplicates and there weren't all that many other reports on this new project.

It may be that the system is working as intended and the testers, well, aren't.
