Hello Members,
I'm just wondering how would you rate the hard AI compared to a Human opponent on BGA? In terms of ELO level. I'm interested to get a rough gauge of wether hard AI would equate to perhaps strong beginner or low intermediate Human play level? I find that some games tend to overestimate 'Hard' AI relative to competitive human only play.
I haven’t started playing Gaia Project on BGA yet, but I plan to soon. For now, I only play the app version against Hard AI opponents.
I always play 4-player games against 3 Hard AIs. I use settings that let me always choose my own faction, which means my three opponents are fixed for that faction. For example, whenever I play as Ivits, my opponents are always Terrans, Xenos, and Geodens.
The app automatically assigns the same AI factions every time. If you try to change an opponent you'll get a map incompatibly warning.
Other settings I use:
- Always 4 player (myself versus 3 Hard AI opponents)
- Shuffle Players: On
- No Auction (everyone starts with 10 VP)
- Turn Order determined by Passing Order: On
- Last Player Rotates Sectors: Off
- 10 Sectors
- Seed Default On (default is random seeding)
I don’t know the map layout, research track, advanced/standard tech tiles, round objectives, or end-game objectives in advance or any other secret information my opponents don't know before hand.
