Unsurprisingly, the BGA Extension's dark mode is better than the new "official' website's dark mode. A few seconds was all that took me to realize this.

Re: Google Chrome, Firefox & Opera Extension
I wouldn't say that—the site's dark mode is pretty clean. But when it comes to games, unfortunately, the biggest effort has to come from the developers of each game. And there's a really long list of games. I've been working on this for three years, and there's still a lot of work for them to do, so I think the extension will still be useful for a little while longerBarberserk wrote: ↑06 July 2026, 21:18 Unsurprisingly, the BGA Extension's dark mode is better than the new "official' website's dark mode. The main site is ok as you say, but there are problems inside games for sure (Terraforming Mars is a bit of a mess for one). Are problems with Dark Mode being raised as standard bugs though? And then it's up to the game dev to fix them?
I know how much work you've put in, and your dark mode is very good, apart from as new games are introduced. I feel like BGA might be playing catchup for quite a while, especially if they are relying on volunteer devs to do the work (since some games just don't have one).

Yes, there’s no magic solution—the game styles aren’t standardized enough, so each game has its own dark mode. The extension adds a CSS style sheet for each game; sometimes it contains very little, and often it’s a bit more complicated...nik592 wrote: ↑07 July 2026, 10:38 The main site is ok as you say, but there are problems inside games for sure (Terraforming Mars is a bit of a mess for one). Terraforming Mars is one of the games for which the extension adds the most CSS code (6 KB of CSS code for this game alone), so I’m not surprised that the native implementation isn’t perfect yet.
I can’t speak for BGA, but from what I understand, it will be up to each developer to handle dark mode bugs in their game. I guess they’ll talk about it in their announcement tomorrow!
There are obviously going to be issues with older games where the developer is no longer around, or even games where the publisher paid a developer to adapt the game for BGA (I’d be surprised if implementing a dark mode three years later was part of the contract
Well, it’s going to take a while, but in the meantime, there’s the extension to handle older games, and I think upcoming games will have proper dark mode support built right in.

You are right, it's mostly in games that the problems are glaring. The main site... Ok, it works, but I think I still prefer the extension's color choices. Perhaps it's just what I am more familiar with? Hard to say. 3 years eh? How time flies!

Re: Google Chrome, Firefox & Opera Extension
Hi, I love the extension and have been using it for a while, but about a week ago, when it's my turn on Ark Nova, my action cards are all grey instead of blue or pink (depending on if they're upgraded). Doesn't break the game by any means, but does make it a little harder to use. Thanks!

This bug has already been fixed, I think that you need to restart your browser to update the extension.
