Is the development finished?

Post by primrose1234 »

I am asking genuine since the same topics occur from the release until now.

Are there any plans to...
... ban blackout as an option
... choose security camera as an option
... rework the showdown
... add the expansions
... add QoL elements

It is totally fine if this is not the case, I assume developing is unpaid and stressful. I am just curious at which point of the game we are right now and where the game is going to.

For me it shouldn't be, but since it was moved 2 months ago to full release then might be. That's wrong but, well BGA.

To add things to your list:
Coordinator card and different order display on table an on players panel.

And big recent ELO system BUG.

BGA just doesn't have the resources for bugfixes and support. There's a display issue on Mobile that was introduced a few months ago that still hasn't been fixed. I would like to see an option to ban Blackout card, which should be quick to implement, but they haven't done it.

banning a card isn't up to BGA, its up to the publisher of the game (KOSMOS i think?)

BGA has a policy that they won't implement rule variants that aren't blessed by the publisher. That is a stupid rule.

BGA won't remove Blackout card unless the publisher lists a rule variant that says "If you don't like the blackout card, remove it from the deck."

It is not a stupid rule, it is a legal issue. Unless the game is public domain (e.g. old, classic games like chess), they need a license from the copyright owner to have it on their platform. You must get the copyright holder's permission before changing any part of their work. This is a legal requirement and not just a platform rule.

They could get a contract that allows them to playtest rule variants, if they thought it was important.

They could... if the copyright holder agrees to it, which is the same thing again :D
