Cartographers: Heroes - options to combine with base game

Is there way to play games where the Cartographers: Heros cards can be combined with the original base game? In the game setup options, it seems that you can choose a set from one game or the other, but not a combination (or random). Is this intentional? Will there be options for this in the future?

There are very specific rules for mixing and matching certain components. You can see all options when choosing "Setup" > "Custom".

For instance you're not supposed to mix the exploration cards, only use them from 1 base game. The rulebook describes in details what you should and shouldn't mix (the BGA implementation follows these rules)
