I get accused of collusion when someone who doesn't like getting robbed gets robbed by me more than once. I think the Kingmaking and team play accusations require definitive evidence from game logs and a report of the player. I don't think the moderators like it when players repeatedly call out other players in the forums when this is expressly prohibited. That said, I probably couldn't tell if there was collusion going on. Maybe if it was blatant enough.

Yes, very likely the big majority of accusations on forum is false.

But here two players played hundred(s) of games only with each other and with always a different third, unsuspecting player (=victim). One player (the main account) has a 95+% win ratio on those games because the two players only steal the 3rd, only trade with each other (very suspicious trades) and (almost) always let the same player win. Their account rose like a rocket from 200 Elo to 500+ Elo and #3 Elo overall.

Sometimes it is very obvious and then reporting leads to penalties.

just checked those guys, one of them is 3rd in Catan rating I think BGA should filtering such activity and do not give any achievements or rating for such players. Due to cheating

After your post on 22.6. I reported them for Elo cheating. Since then they have only played friendly, unranked games. Since this is hardly a coincidence they must have been moderated and they cannot join or start ranked Catan games since the moderation penalty.

Since they cheated over hundreds of games and unfairly gained 300 Elo points I am surprised that their Elo has not been reset to 100 but at least they cannot continue hurting other players. The moderation protects all other players. And even if #2 and #1 fall back behind them in ELO they will not get the ELO #1 trophy (because you have to actively play a game yourself that reaches #1).

Since I do not know how long their moderation will last I do monitor now and then if they continue their cheating. One needs to report again in this case.

Please note that only reporting a player causes a moderation penalty. Lamenting in the forums and posting messages on the player's personal wall only gets yourself moderated - and rightly so.

Their last rated game was 24.6.2026. Since then they only play unrated games (friendly mode). Even if they play unfairly now their opponents can leave at any time without any consequence.

They might now have reached #2 because other players before them have fallen back in rating. But as I have already written they will not get any trophies for reaching those ELO spots because you have to get them by actively playing a rated game and not by staying on a fixed ELO vaöue and others falling back behind you.

Summary: Yes, it is a pity that they are still staying in the rating list as a dead duck. But the moderation penalty at least has the effect that they cannot do further harm.
