Sure, but just because you may want to do it doesn't mean the site would agree that it's a nice thing that you should be able to do. Plus, the whole point of making the loading screen anonymous is that you can't avoid specific players anymore. Arena is a competitive mode where you should take on whatever opponent is facing you. By trying to avoid specific players, it's like you are trying to find a way around that and working against the spirit of what they are trying to achieve by making Arena anonymous. Even if you are not doing it for bad sportsmanship reasons, it still has the effect of arbitrarily removing a player from your list of potential opponents.NutsyMind00X wrote: ↑28 July 2026, 16:21 I understand that you dont see why i want to see the name, but please understand that i want to sse the name cause if it comes that it is very often the same guyz, i would be very pleased to RT them, you got it ?

Re: Arena player not acccepting the start of the game
I liked the old system, where Arena games just auto-started and the opponent didn't have the option to reject. To me, that was one of the main attractions of Arena, not having to wait for afk opponents. If you try to start 3 games in a row that fail due to non-accepting or afk opponent, it's very frustrating.

The old system was far more tedious. Under the old system, if your opponent no showed, you had to wait out whatever the clock was, then time them out, which would take like 5 minutes to then hop back in the queue, under the new system that takes about 30 seconds.FSKFSK wrote: ↑29 July 2026, 03:24 I liked the old system, where Arena games just auto-started and the opponent didn't have the option to reject. Thats why my point is just a suggestion nothing more....tbhp wrote: ↑28 July 2026, 22:20Sure, but just because you may want to do it doesn't mean the site would agree that it's a nice thing that you should be able to do. The red thumbing system already exist, and my point is not to remove strong opponent is to remove annoying people
Maybe a éin between" solution would be that BGA autodetect recurring "not launching game" behaviour and puonish it by karma?
Re: Arena player not acccepting the start of the game
Under the old system, if someone afk'd while in Arena queue, they suffer a ratings penalty for a loss, which is a disincentive to not do it. Under the current system, there's no penalty for afking while in Arena queue.
Re: Arena player not acccepting the start of the game
Yeah, that's because now the moment you are supposed to be ready to play is once you've clicked accept. Before, you had to be ready the moment you started the search.
So to give players a penalty for taking too long to accept seems at odds with the new system. Might as well never have changed the system in that case.
Re: Arena player not acccepting the start of the game
OP didn't ask for penalty, just to inform other players, so if someone keeps joining arena but never accepting, they can red thumb themtbhp wrote: ↑31 July 2026, 01:47Yeah, that's because now the moment you are supposed to be ready to play is once you've clicked accept. They mentioned penalties as an alternative solution.gaarel2 wrote: ↑31 July 2026, 06:08OP didn't ask for penalty, just to inform other players, so if someone keeps joining arena but never accepting, they can red thumb themtbhp wrote: ↑31 July 2026, 01:47Yeah, that's because now the moment you are supposed to be ready to play is once you've clicked accept. In my opinion all those threads complaining about Arena are missing the point. Arena is the competitive mode on this site, it exists to take on whoever crosses your path and prove yourself. It's not here to be fun or accommodate every player's wishes.
When you play normal games, sure you can ask for those accommodations. But when you are in the Arena, you are out in the wild, so to speak.

Being in a competitive is nowhere related to allow recurrrent annoying behaviour like AKing during in queue for a match, you mix different topic.
it is like you are taking absolutly nosense argument just to opposed the suggestion.
i guess you should not have encounter a lot this AKing topic, else I think you would stongly that there something to be done about that
Re: Arena player not acccepting the start of the game
If it was a real life competition, do you think a team or athlete would refuse a game because they don't like the behavior of the athlete or country? That wouldn't fit the spirit of competition, does it? When you are facing an opponent, they are not supposed to be your friend. It's irrelevant whether you agree with their behavior or not. You are just here to beat them.NutsyMind00X wrote: ↑31 July 2026, 12:31tbhp wrote: ↑31 July 2026, 09:57They mentioned penalties as an alternative solution.
