Points for winning a game.

I just won an Arena game. I am rated in the low 100's. A 201 rated player came in second. And I won one stupid point for winning? Seriously moderators that makes no sense. Winning an Arena game should give the winner at least 3-4 points. I love the game, but some of the BGA rules make the game a lot less fun than it should be.

Elo has no effect on Arena results.

That said, I do find it odd that your recent 3-player game only gained you 1 silver medal advancement.

Your comment doesn't make any sense. https://boardgamearena.com/table?table=895061578 You clearly gained 17 points for winning vs a 200s and 100, not 1. The only +1 I see is how you gained 1 platinum point for beating a gold and a bronze, which are bother lower leagues entirely.

Isn't that odd though? I thought it was +2 medals for beating someone one tier below. In this game, only one medal total was given for a game in which there were two opponents, one of whom was only one tier below. That win alone should result in 2 medals, right? And I would think winning against the other player would also be at least one medal for a total of at least 3.

Where is that from and is it for 3 players? Because I can see the rating differences weren't what you'd get for 2 1 v 1s, but I don't know what the formula is for more than 2 players offhand.

I don't know the formula either, but I am pretty sure you don't just get an addition of what you'd get for 2 wins at 2 player. I know from Heat, it's much harder to go up the leagues at >2 player Arena, I suspect it's something to do with K Factor being lower the more players there are.

Why? With 2 players, you have to beat the opponent without help. With 3 players, you do not.

I'm sure someone posted what the gains for various differences in Arena levels. Unfortunately, since "win", "arena", and "points" are all ignored for searching in the forums, it's kind of hard to find. "level" is permitted, but after 15 pages of results, I still hadn't found the post I was thinking of. But I'm sure it's there somewhere...

Why? With 2 players, you have to beat the opponent without help. With 3 players, you do not.

True, the bronze player could end up accidentally helping the platinum player with bad plays. But this could also help the gold player. I would think the overall effect would be neutral. And there's the possibility the bronze player could win.

Seems tough to advance if a 3-player game win only gives one medal.
