Tournament scoring in arena mode

Post by Bughead »

If a player wins the first round by 3 points or more, it's very improbable for the losing player to catch up. This makes the second round feel futile. Is it appropriate for the losing player to concede in this circumstance? Are there any negative consequences for the winner of a conceded game in the arena standings?

Conceding (not quitting) is losing, period. It doesn't add any negative consequences and it doesn't avoid any negative consequences. It is treated exactly the same as a loss, with the same Elo change and the same Arena change as if you played to the end and still lost.

It's just as likely as the first player winning the first round by 3 points or more... If it happened once, it can happen twice.
