I'm really disturbed by the moves you are starting to make as a service, I have to be honest. I reckon what you're moving to is a two-tier service, widening the gap between the premium and non-premium users. You will polarise the BGA community, and fall into the same trap as all fremium services: destroying the atmosphere of the site while simultaneously making more aggressive marketing moves to gain revenue. This idea of "showing" more clearly the difference between paying members and non-paying members is I think just the wrong move you will IMO later regret. Once it becomes more about the money you get, it will become less about the games, and the community.
The reason why people like board games so much is precisely because it's about equal people sharing a fun time with no sense of preference or difference between them. Can you honestly say you're not already forgetting this fundamental principle as you start to attach your fine robes to your paying customers, and start to think more about what they could have to distinguish themselves above the joe average player... by importing the fremium model to boardgames, you will destroy the very reason why people get together to play them.
It seems the lessons of the French Revolution were not learned, after all... shame, as i used to be fond of this site...
The darkness is closing in to infect BGA.
