It's because you can't do any damage in that zone. The abomination would eat all the damage without effect.

Yes, but there are zombies with only 1 HP in that zone. So I should still be able to kill them, right?

No because you can't freely distribute the hits. You need sniper to do that

I don't want to distribute the hits. I just want to kill the 1 HP zombies. If I target the zone, why can't I kill them?
