Couldn’t care less about badges

Post by beri »

Badges and XP are all for show and I couldn’t care less about them.
I’m pretty annoyed with the noisy animations that follow some of my games, when I’ve earned a badge.
And, they take up space on my screen.

Is there any way that I get out of the badge system, or at least hide them completely?

I don’t need cotton candy and a pat on my head and when I’ve been a good boy.

Thanks! :)

I don't know of a way to hide the badge system, but you can at least mute the sound.
On your profile page go to "update your information" then "sound". You can disable sound for trophies and ELO updates.

I mean, it just shows up for a second every once in a while. But if it bothers some people, I guess they could make it an option to remove them.

I think it's great when you've just won a tournament or reached an Elo goal and it appears. For more random badges, it can seem unneeded, but I don't really get how it would be bothering.

I think they designed the pop up screen with the big trophies in mind. But then, they didn't really have a reason to make it different for other trophies, so it's the same for all trophies.

Why would something have been done when you didn't even bother to use the actual system in place for making suggestions?

So this whole forum is useless and should be deleted?

This is quite a useful place to chat with other players. so no, its not useless.

but if you are trying to suggest a change to the site, there is something else useful. the suggestion/bugs submission system.

This is a discussion oriented forum, it doesn't become useless just because it's not acknowledged by the admins, even though it would be nice if it were.

No. That is an absurd conclusion that does not logically follow from what I said. There is a specific system for submitting suggestions that I linked to above. There is also a specific sub-forum for discussing those suggestions conveniently labeled "Suggestions." The pinned "read this first" post in the Suggestions sub-forum explicitly says "You can discuss your ideas and suggestions in this forum with fellow players."
