Add a card in a 2-players game

Hello all, In a 2-players game, is it allowed to add a card to my own second pile to beat a combination of my opponent?

No, you are not allowed to add a card to your own set.

The rules define the action as: „Add 1 card to a set in front of an opponent“.

So, even if you have two sets, they are both your own sets and are not in front of your opponent. You are not allowed to add a card to your own sets.
