I wanted to present an updated points ranking for the Orpington tournaments organised by SDearn and, from tournament 476 onwards, by me.
The summary includes all tournaments from Orpington BG Classic • OBGC 1 from 16 July 2016 to Orpington BG Classic • Caprara Cup 500, which ended on 16 August.
Over the course of 10 years, the numbering has changed. The tournament that just ended was the 500th!
I counted the points according to the following rule: 1st place 12 points, 2nd place 10 points, 3rd place 8 points, 4th place 7 points... 10th place 1 point.
I published a list of the 50 best players out of 407 who participated in the tournament at least once.
57 players have participated in the last 50 tournaments.
Since the previous publication, the biggest advancement on the list was made by Lotsa Blots: 355 positions – congratulations.
BieGulp made an even bigger jump on the list - from the last position of 407 she jumped to 40, which is an advancement of 367 positions - big congratulations.
The most points in the last 50 tournaments were scored by bubbaxis - 216 points.
He also has the most wins in the last 50 tournaments with 7! – congratulations.
The 500th tournament is an opportunity to share additional statistics. I've added information about the first tournament participation (date, tournament number, and ranking).
As many as 13 players managed to win in their debut, 8 of whom are in the top 50.
As many as 9 players out of the current 50 have been with us for 10 years!
