We support : the 7th continent on Kickstarter.

Post by sourisdudesert »

BGA is happy to support the first « choose-your-own-path » board game where YOU are the hero, now on Kickstarter.

The 7th continent is a very innovative adventure board game from Serious Poulp (Steam Torpedo, 8 Masters' Revenge).

The 7th Continent is a cooperative board game of exploration and survival for 1 to 4 players, inspired by the gamebooks where YOU are the hero. You play the role of an explorer at the beginning of the 20th century who has returned from an expedition to the newly discovered 7th Continent, a mysterious and hostile land inspired by Jules Verne and H.P. Lovecraft. You have brought more than relics and tales of adventure back with you however, a nefarious curse now eats away at your soul and you must return to the continent to find out what ails you and purge it… or die trying!

Progress at your own pace through this mysterious land, building the board piece by piece with numbered Terrain and Event cards.

If you want to live through the many dangers of the 7th Continent and lift your curse, you will have to use all your survival skills: craft items, hunt and fish to get food, learn how to benefit from your environment, spend experience points to acquire new abilities, etc.

The game uses an innovative card system to determine success or failure when undertaking actions. No need to roll dice!

Unlike other board games, The 7th Continent will take you through many, MANY hours of adventure as you explore the continent to lift your curse. To make this manageable, the game includes a simple yet effective save system that allows you to quickly interrupt the game at any time and have it ready for your next session, just like in a video game.

More than 30 Stretch Goals have already been unlocked thanks to 7.000+ backers and there are more to come by the end of the campaign on October 27th.

The 7th Continent: 1000+ minutes of adventure for 1 to 4 players, 12 years and up.

There is no plan to have this game on BGA (and to be honest I don't think this would be a good idea) : we just want to support this project from our partners Serious Poulp.

By the way, thank you Bruno and Ludovic to let us try this incredible game prototype last year :)

Well, BGA have 8 Masters Revenge game of this Publisher...

This game -reading the first post- has 1000 minutes of adventures?, it's more than 16 hours... (you know, sleep below than 8 hours isn't healthy xDDD)

Oso the real game can fortunately be "saved" for players to resume playing it later. The feature didn't exist when I first heard about the game, and it scared me quite a bit ^^

The 7th Continent doesn't make sense if you play it with a stranger that knows everything about it, so it's not meant to be played online and authors said it right from the beginning in a FAQ.
The tutorial could have been adapted as a mini-game here on BGA, but its non-replayability and the simple enough rules crushed my adaptation dreams.
