TacTile App

Post by FriendlyBeeGameco »

Hey gang - official feedback thread for the app

So initially this is intended to help you practice with bots and challenge levels (I recommend medium level 5! Very fun). If you progress through the challenges you’re definitely a pro. The app is designed to be more streamlined and I hope to have online in the future. But let me know what you think - happy to make new modes for you guys.

Nice app, nice to play against a bot.
The strongest bot is decent although it does seem like there is some room for improvement related to anticipating the opponents move. Things like starting position selection, where a bot gave me a position that allowed me to quickly buy the only gain on the market, or the bot gaining resources intending to buy a certain card while I can easily buy the card preventing the bot from buying, and the bot not using the market reset at all.
Main issue I have is that the strongest bot in 2 of my games scored one pawn. Unless there is 100% certainty you will be able to bring in the 2nd on the following turn this should not happen. Basic rule for the bot should be to not score a pawn unless they can both be scored in the same turn.

So now you know why the bot is only the prince :)

the strongest bot is still not strong enough. I've unfortunately hit a plateau in its ability. I'm aware of both bugs but fixing them is not super easy. I will keep working on it. My goal is to create an unbeatable bot then use its strength to create game analytics so we can review our games

However - I wonder how everyone else's experience is? In my experience the prince plays at like a med-high level so I expect he will be quite hard to defeat for the average player.

Right now what the app does well is offering challenges for onboarding new players and progressing their skills. I think if you can make your way through the challenge levels you will come out at a good level for competition
