I do it in my head and slightly by feel. Like I'll note if a load of 9s comes up or roughly how many 11s etc. I never use paper of tallies. It's more fun that way.

But it's interesting to see players taking their gain when they have 2 of the big cards (9,10,11,12) at any moment,not only at first.

I base mine off of this, if I have 2 of the big 3, or 3 of the big 4, I'm hitting stay. I'll play a bit more cautious if I have a big lead, and I'll take more risks if I'm way behind.
