No Top20 badge for some games ?

Hi there,
On the last 2 games where I climbed Top20 (with 300 ELO +), I didn't get the badge : Superstore3000 and Umbrella. As they are not played a lot, I wonder if there is another criterium (like popularity) for these games, or if it just a bug.

For Superstore3000, the last top20 badge has been awarded in april 2025, even if there have been top10 since : https://boardgamearena.com/award?game=2183&award=28

It feels like when the game gets less popular, no more top 20 are awarded... I remember well the 300 ELO rule, but didn't see anything about popularity.

There is a bug report about that (https://boardgamearena.com/bug?id=20011), but no answer since november 2025, and it feels like a rather important feature.

Yes, it's noted in the FAQ that the games need a certain population of players for the badges to be awarded.

For the all time ranking:

At least 1000 players for top 20
At least 300 players for top 10

For the Arena ranking:

At least 100 players for top 20
At least 50 players for top 10

Note that for all time this concerns all players while for Arena this concerns only players who have reached Elite league this season.

Aaaah thanks a lot for your answer, I didn't see this last time I checked the FAQ!

As a side note, this is a bit annoying because when playing Arena in not very popular games, you may not know until the season has ended whether you are going to get a specific badge.

For example, say you are sitting in the top 10, and there is currently a little under 50 players who have reached Elite league. So you're gonna be wondering till the end.

At least the badges for top 5 and above are always awarded (assuming Elo over 300 of course).
