I sometimes watch Games of better Players. One time I Saw a Game where they played 1-2 birds and drew Like 20 Cards or more for the First 8-9 actions and they still won. I was impressed and learned to view tuck birds in the Grasland different from then on.


This is a Game where my Opponent played 7 birds total and 5 of them in the water , the Game was closer then I wished for.

https://boardgamearena.com/table?table=711124925 I didn't draw a particularly great hand, but my opponent pulled an incredibly powerful Grassland plan for food. The problem was that it was extremely friendly (Hummingbird and Phoebe) and gave me a lot to run on. So I did exactly that, finding powerful cards to play the mid and late game fueled by my opponent's great support of my early game for fuel. As a result, I managed to pull ahead by enough to take the game. While the game wasn't perfectly played, it wasn't like my opponent was randomly giving me things for no reason, they wagered their high value plays would be worth more than anything I could have done, and with their score they'd have been right 99% of the time, but this time I managed to pull off that 1%, managing to beat their triple digit score.

A great set of cards, getting early tuck and draw, etc. But what glued it all together was Eastern Phoebe fueling nearly the entirety of my game, I only used gain food once early on for one seed. Turns out food diversity wasn't needed after all, even with only 1 food at a time, lol. Thanks to the great cards surrounding it, Phoebe showed it could back a triple digit score as the food supply. I had little doubt it was a strong food outlet when paired with other Grassland food option, but I hadn't expected it to do the job on its own at the time, just wanted to give it a go.
