monopoly card can be used to take resources despite one player affected has 2 points

Can you believe a player menace with a red thumb because I used monopoly card and they lost resources with 2 points.

They considered I robbed them with 2 points using the monopoly card.

It is starting to be absurd.

The rules are clear and correctly implemented.

Any decent player would state something along the line: "Wow, that hurts. I did not know that Monopoly cards also affected 2VP-opponents. But good to know, next game I am aware of it and can use the knowledge in defense and offense myself."
