I've been learning some new games (and I'm not a very fast player to begin with) so I have a few slow games. It's annoying between the average/good/expert only games I can't join and the games where you mustn't have any slow played games. Why bother showing games player's can't join? or at least let me filter them so by default I don't see them.

+1 for the suggestion, I'd only add that the same feature may be enabled for suggesting players to play.. Either suggested players should be able to join the game even if they do not meet the requirements, or they should not be on the list of available players..

I mostly get annoyed by the games where only friends or a group can join, I think because that is not as easy to read (maybe the color?) and I tend not to notice it.

The best route would be separate options to hide games with certain requirements, individually (since someone might want to see those games for some reason), but a general option at the top of the page to turn off all non-qualified games would be good too.

These sound like good ideas, especially hiding the private games (or giving the table makers permission to hide the games from players not in their exclusive group, or from players not invited in the case where the table is set up to have a specific set of invited players).

It may be useful to keep a game visible for players who don't meet the requirements, and not just for spectating purposes! The table maker might temporarily relax their restrictions to let in a player who is close to meeting them, especially if it's hard to find players otherwise. So we shouldn't hide all such games, or at least allow an option to see them.


Dual to this, how about hiding players who don't meet the requirement from the list of suggested players, or having labels like "Beginner", "Good player", etc. that can be seen from a standard account (like in the tables)? It's a bit annoying to get a suggestion for a game which you are nowhere near the desired skill level, and probably much worse on the table maker's side - they may sit around waiting for a player when nobody around is of the skill level they want, instead of realizing that they can't get such a player and either relaxing their restrictions or trying another game.

Sure, club members would be able to see everyone's ELO anyway, but this would help everyone else. Hiding players would also be useful when the table maker doesn't want players with a high density of red thumbs, quits, and/or timeouts.

This is such a basic concept I couldn't believe there was no way to hide games I have no way of joining.
In fact, I found it so frustrating, that I spent my night fixing it.

Note: I am not a javascript developer, so I welcome improvement suggestions.

You just need a plugin or some other way of calling js functions on the page.
(Personally, I'm using "Custom JavaScript for websites" for Chrome)

I think this would be a very handy feature to have. I have the same problem when trying to find a new game to play.
