Your birthday is coming (yes, it is, maybe not in the coming days but it eventually will) and you’ve decided that this year, you’ll make the birthday cake. And what better place to do so than your own shop…
Got What It Bakes? is a strategic, yet cozy, roll-and-write game (even is solo mode), where you run an artisan bakery. Over the course of three rounds you will plan, draft and bake, building your bakery's reputation one recipe at a time.
Each round begins with planning: study the recipes on offer and decide which breads and pastries are worth chasing. Then comes the drafting, where dice become ingredients. Finally, you mix and bake, turning your carefully gathered resources into finished creations worthy of a display case.
But a bakery doesn't run on flour alone. Manage your Time and Money carefully: spend too fast and you'll be caught short on the recipes that matter most. Invest wisely in kitchen and tools upgrades, and your bakery will grow with every round.
Sometimes the oven isn't the only thing that needs heating up. Use a Refreshment at just the right moment, and you'll get the boost needed to push a difficult creation over the finish line. And when the pressure's on, you can always reach for the "Bake if You Dare!" action, a shortcut that trades safety for speed, and might cost your whole batch.
Play it safe or risk it all. Either way, by the end of three rounds, you'll know exactly what you're made of and what you bake.
