Annoying bug and negative karma

Post by Jarhead-1833 »

Just an annoyance, not a big deal. I try to make sure I am always a good player and respectful of other players and the games. I haven’t played many real time games. Today I was in a real time game of Lost Ruins of Arnak, and near the end of the game one of the other players just stops playing. At some point I see a button appear that says “skip player” or something like that. But I figured maybe something happened and they were trying to get back on. The screen literally said waiting on that player to take their turn and the timer next to their name continued to run. I sat patiently waiting and after it went over -5 minutes I decided to click the button. Once I tried.I got the message “skipped players can’t skip other players” message. And evidently I had been skipped because at some point it must have been my turn and I timed out. A glitch is a glitch but then to see I went from 100 reputation to 90 because of a glitch is pretty annoying. I feel better now I have that off my chest. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

I find hitting refresh will get over that bug when it pops up. So if a turn is taking suspiciously long just hit refresh to make sure it wasn't that glitch.

Yes, it's an annoying network glitch. If someone is taking longer than expected then it's worth refreshing just to make sure there's not a problem at your end before nudging the other player.

The good thing is that if you habitually finish your games, then your karma will be fully restored before long.

If it's more than 30 seconds and the other player hasn't moved, refresh the page to make sure it didn't hang.

Yes, the site is buggy garbage. It's a clearcut bug in their code. If you get dropped, the page should display an error, rather than freezing and letting you think it's someone else's turn.

Seems more logic than a bug to me. If your system is disconnected how can it receive the information that it's disconnected?
