As you may know, Lookout Games is deeply involved in developing games on BGA. We make almost all of our new games available to the online gaming community and love seeing them played and enjoyed worldwide.
Now, we’d like to take things a step further by regularly organizing friendly tournaments for our new releases, and occasionally for some of our older (or not-so-old) classics like Forest Shuffle, Agricola, Patchwork, and more. Between the community and our Lookout Team.
After https://boardgamearena.com/gamepanel?game=tipperary, https://boardgamearena.com/gamepanel?game=ghostsgalore (160 players!) we are pleased to open a new Tournament where you will be able to compete with the game designer himself : https://boardgamearena.com/tournament?id=599563.
Dragon Overload is a 2 players game, extremely simple but tactical :
You try to have the strongest dragons in the 5 home areas.
Players take turns playing a card into a habitat on their side of the board either face-up or face-down. They can only play cards in areas that are not full. An area is full when it has 3 cards.
When playing a card face up, it must match suit with the area it is placed in. When playing a card face down, it is not required to match suit. Players can only play a total of 3 face-down cards on their side of the board. After playing a card, the opponent must take the card on top of the area in which the card was just placed and add it to their hand. A new card is added to the area.
After playing a card into an area, compare the strengths. Players win an area by having the highest value of combined card value (only face-up cards) in that area. If so, move the claim token onto their side of the board. Otherwise, it stays where it is.
There are 3 ways to end the game.
-> If a player has all 5 claim tokens on their side of the board – they win the game immediately.
-> If a player cannot play a card – they lose the game immediately.
-> If the game ends by both sides becoming full – players now reveal all their face-down cards and check their strengths in each of the 5 areas. If the revealed card matches the suit it is added to the total value, if not its discarded. The claim token is moved to the side with the highest value. But if the value is double (or more) than their opponents, the area is lost and the other player gets the claim token instead. The player with the most claim tokens wins the game.
