Responding to posts serially, so I didn't see this. Tfmbot was an automated player that had its own BGA account. This is nothing of the sort.

Now if it taxes server resources with database queries, that could be objectionable.
Fair - When you click "Analyze", the extension loads 2 pages in your own browser: the game review page and the replay page for that finished game.

So basically what you'd get by clicking "Replay" yourself. So the load on BGA is a couple of page views per game, initiated by the user so I would not define it as a big automated load on the servers.
Is there a way to extract the same information directly from the JSON file that is already received at the end of the game? Then you wouldn't be making a separate request to the server. I'm not sure if it holds the entire game history, though.

No unfortunately not all the data needed to have a complete overview of the game is available there - you need to open a new page.

Not comparable, that was a bot account that joined friendly games

Yes, I am aware of what the tfmbot was. :)

(Perhaps you posted that so others reading the thread would not be confused by what I wrote).

To be most precise, tfmBot did not join friendly games, it was the other way around. tfmBot posted open games, and people who had added tfmBot to their friends list could join the game to play against it.

It was harmless; nobody would ever end up in a game with tfmBot without doing it knowingly and intentionally. Unless someone happened to see a game replay with "tfmBot" as one of the players and decided to send a friend request to tfmBot and the join one of its open game invites, thinking it's just a human player who named himself "tfmBot."

Anyway, my point was, we can never be 100% sure how BGA will rule on something, even something seemingly innocuous.

As I have said several times, I see nothing problematic about this study tool described in this thread, but that is no guarantee BGA will view it the same way.

Yes, sorry. I was aware too late, that Meeplelowda already wrote what I wanted to add.
