*bump*
I think this list of most wanted changes is still valid.

This is actually how it should work, it's similar to I post I wrote today. That it should foresee what will lead to the best numbers down the line for your tournament to work, it would lead to more tournaments that work and make them fairer. It's very silly right now that if you have 40 players left and the game is set to max 6 players, min 4 players, it will create 6 tables of 6 and 1 table of 4, which is probably the worst way to do it. It's somewhat of a dirty word around here, but any AI would work out the best way to make your tournament work from the settings you've used, and the numbers you have.

There's actually many examples of poor AI, take the estimated end date feature, this would actually be a useful feature to warn people if tournaments are going to be very long. Except it doesn't remotely work currently.

Just some examples:

https://boardgamearena.com/tournament?id=599924

Estimated to take 7 months, not even physically possible when the tournament is 5 rounds (and the system should be able to work this out) with 30 day rounds.

https://boardgamearena.com/tournament?id=605705

The most egregious example, groups completely messes up however this works. Estimated to take over 2 years! Complete nonsense when again the system should be able to work out the tournament will last 4 rounds, and those rounds are max of 30 days.

I'm using my own tournaments here, but there are examples of this going the other way too, where it vastly under estimates how long a tournament will take. It's a good idea, but in current implementation is a complete nonsense. I'd actually like to see it be a bit better than just seeing a tournament is 5 rounds, 30 day rounds and saying 5 months too, it should be able to base off past events to give a more accurate prediction, similar to how the site estimates the amount of time a game will take at differing player counts. For example that 5 round tournament will actually take around 3 months in actuality. It doesn't need to be perfect, it just needs to be something resembling reality.
