Stable tree and stable planner don't work together?

Post by hayduke »

The wording of stable tree should trigger by stables built by stable planner, correct? Because it did not.

How is anyone supposed to help you, if you don't tell us the cards' texts?

Ah, well, s

table planner "Add 3, 6, and 9 to the current round. You can place 1 stable to corresponding round space. At the start of these rounds (not earlier), you can build the stable at no cost."

stable tree, " Each time you build 1 or more stables on your turn, place 1
wood on each of the next 3 round spaces. At the start of these rounds, you get the wood
."

Each time I built the stable I got no wood on the next rounds.

Probably because "at the start of these rounds" is not the same timing as "on your turn". So it seems quite logical to me that they don't trigger each other.

I noticed this before and found it a bit disappointing.

I'm assuming it also doesn't work with Lazybones or Lumber Virtuoso?

Does it work with Stable Planner? You can build stables on your turn or out of turn with this occ so it seems very annoying to code both behaviours into it.

Stable Tree requires stables to be built on your turn. If you build stables on your turn it works, if not it doesn't. So it doesn't work with Lazybones (other players' turns) or Lumber Virtuoso (in harvest).

You asked about Stable Planner, but I'm guessing you meant Stable Cleaner. The answer is that the code knows if it's your turn, so it will work during your turns and not otherwise. (an "if" isn't too annoying to code :) )

He did mean Stable Planner, the card that puts stables in the future (3/6/9) turns. Your explanation is still very correct and also explain why Stable Planner won't trigger Stable Tree.

What happens here for who are not familiar is that Stable Cleaner (at anytime, you can build a stable with a wood and a food) is a buggy card in terms of building timing, and is probably one of the most explained card in BGA.

But I think right now being able to see the additional ruling in cards like this should help clarify a lot of these situation.
