Game Preferences Reset?

This perhaps belongs in bugs, but I want to know if anyone else is experiencing it. Lately, I've started a few games and found that the game settings that I thought were saved have been reset. For example, I start 6 nimmt, my usual settings are 5-player, good players and above. Instead, I get a 6 nimmt game with the basic preferences: up to 10 players, no level restriction.

This was really bothersome when I started a Through the Ages turn-based game, thinking I was playing the full, complex version (as I usually do). Only after the game started did I realize it was the simple (beginner) version of Through the Ages.

Has this happened to anyone else? What causes it? I play a lot here and don't want to have to check my settings each time I create a game. So far this has happened ~4 times, so it's not common, but when it happens it is very annoying.

Not an official reply but here's my experience.

Occasionally, I'll join a game where the player that created the table leaves before starting. I think what happens is I become the table owner and from then on my default settings become the same as the table that was created. I just start a new table and change my settings back to what I like.

Yep. I've noticed what gdBlaze described as well.

The other thing that can happen is if you finish a game and request a rematch, the rematch game takes on the attributes of the first game and then that overwrites your standard preferences.

Thanks for the feedback! One of those was probably the cause. It seems more a bug than a feature, as it's overwriting my preferred settings with someone else's without me realizing.

At least now I know what to look out for.
