forgive, i misunderstood. i clicked and comment.cigma wrote: ↑09 September 2026, 07:37That's why the report mentioned above is not for a specific game, but for the BGA general website. But with only 2 votes, we won't get any attention from the website developers. Again, I ask you to add your information and vote for that report!LtHaus wrote: ↑07 September 2026, 18:57what if...cigma wrote: ↑30 August 2026, 06:40 Yes, looks like it. Please, all of you, add your issues to https://boardgamearena.com/bug?id=229170 and vote for it, to summarize the problems and get more attention from the developers.

i recently registered and cant play cribbage with those database errors popping up.

From the FAQ:
This is not to say you shouldn't raise bugs, as it says above. But if they don't get fixed, they don't get fixed. You can either help or find a different game to play.
Devs don't see a portion of the subscription you "luckily" haven't yet paid. One of the devs, Kayvon, sums it up pretty well in this post:Please also remember that a lot of BGA adaptations are realized and maintained by volunteers on their free time. Finding and fixing bugs is neither easy nor really fun, so the best way you can help is by being nice and giving precise information in bug reports.
It can also happen that the original developer stops maintaining the game after a while for some personal reason. In that case, remaining bugs can stay open a long time, until another developer interested in the game volunteers to take over, or for more popular games, until the number of votes attracts the attention of an admin on this bug's relevance to the community.
As he mentions, a premium subscription is $3.50/month. For that you expect regular, timely, ongoing support for over 1100 games? Plus what it costs just to run and maintain the infrastructure itself. If they actually provided the service you seem to expect, consider that the cost would probably be at least five times what it currently is (and that's a conservative estimate that probably still undervalues what is provided).Kayvon wrote: ↑17 October 2026, 02:05"They" is just a single developer, almost definitely a volunteer. He gets no money from your premium subscription.kindlygrandma wrote: ↑16 October 2026, 22:04 they didn't bother with the ticket even when I paid premium
I volunteer to maintain dozens of games and respond to every ticket. I'm very disappointed when peple file tickets with entitled expectations of receiving instant service (even thought I do provide it) because they pay someone else $3.50/month.kindlygrandma wrote: ↑16 October 2026, 22:04 very disappointed with BGA for their lack of response to the ticket
The good news is that many games are just looking for new volunteers. Maybe that's you! Be the change you want to see in the world.

Your account is 6 days old. That likely means you are not yet familiar with how this website works.
I clicked on the cribbage game page here on BGA, which shows the name of the developer for BGA's implementation of the game. I then clicked on that developer's name, and learned that the developer has not been online since 1 year ago.
So, ranting about how annoyed you are and talking about how happy you are that you aren't paying any money doesn't really help. What would help is asking around to see whether anyone wants to assume development duties for the game. Without an active developer, nobody is reading the numerous bug reports in the Cribbage bug forum. That's why there is no response from a developer and nothing is being done.
Re: How do I report a bug for a specific account
Why should there be an active developer for the bugs to be looked at? Shouldn't there be people whose job it is to look at the bug reports? I'd assume there are already people who are getting paid to work for the site, it's not all volunteer work. If those people have the time to maintain the site and add features that often times people didn't even ask for, why don't they have the time to look at bugs? Most people would agree that this is a higher priority than adding new features.
Obviously they can't always fix everything, but the problem is that according to what you say, they aren't even trying, because it's for volunteers. The way the tasks are organized seems backwards. Normally, you would expect the basics of a site to be handled by paid workers, whereas the optional things can be suggested by volunteers. Instead, it seems that they are paying teams of people who are asked to come up with new things people didn't ask for, while the fixes that people want to see are delegated to volunteers. It should be the other way around.
And if it's true that more money is needed, they really should increase the subscription price, because many sites that don't even provide the same value have higher subscriptions, so I'm sure people wouldn't see a problem. Right now the price looks really low.
