is skälding the same person as JDansp? Right now skälding is at the top of the arena rankings. I watched a United Emu Friends Association game stream that sam and skälding were hosting (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFumIn9Zo1Q&t=8219s) and people in the comments said that skälding is JDansp, so i watched JDansp’s youtube videos from his BGA profile (https://www.youtube.com/@JDSecretPolice/featured) and the voice sounds exactly the same. I checked the match history between skälding and JDansp and skalding has lost to JDansp 7 times out of 7 games, including 6 arena games https://boardgamearena.com/gamestats?pl ... finished=0




Listen to skälding and JDansp in the videos and tell me that they are not the same person. I have no more faith in BGA. We just had the cheating scandal about last season’s arena winner and now one of the oldest arena champions has boosted their own rating 7 times. Do all top players cheat in some way? Arena is a complete joke. Just look at the front page of arena rankings: most of the players are new accounts and only play ark nova. BGA does nothing about everyone making new accounts to boost arena ranking so why play honestly. There is no honour for playing by the rules anymore. There is only honour for cheating because if you are the best at cheating, you get on the victory column card and now you get to go to the world championship in Berlin too

Okay, so to clear up the confusion: JDansp and skälding are not the same person.

Both of them have been longstanding community members for years and because both are Swedish and sound nearly identical (voice, accent), there is the inside joke that they are actually the same. That was the gimmick for the video that you posted, and the joke wasn't clarified until the end, so I can understand where the bafflement comes from, and it also confused some viewers. But if you watch the post-match interview, from around 2:27:00 you have both of them in voice chat at the same time, talking about the games.

Even though I hate to ruin one of our favorite jokes, I don't want them to receive unfair public scrutiny either, so as someone who knows both, I can ensure you that they are two separate people (even though it is admittedly strange that they speak so similar - couldn't quite believe it either when I talked to them the first time )
