Just an observation

Post by Patcewt »

Today I noticed an account that entered into the Elite League of the arena ranking system.
themilip_fish .
What surprised me is that many many good players struggle to reach elite league since you have to make win streak from silver to get to elite and themilip_fish has a 65% win rate which is low.
Also another very interesting observation that surprised me is that I was queuing for arena and tysonj was declining the start of the game instantly because he knew 100% his "friends" were not going to be part of the arena table so he was declining till they all got together in same table.
How could he know this? simply by being in a call with his friends and asking if they got it at same time.
The accounts in question are:

Vladimir navokov
themilip_fish
tysonj

And today wnxordldi also declined the start of the game fast which made me also realize he is in the same group of people, maybe someone that is using multiple accounts to play in arena.

If you check tysonj's history of games with themilip_fish you should also notice ALOT ALOT ALOT of games being played in arena with the same people.

I do not know if they are cheating or not and I am not saying that but it just very very fishy that this is happening so I thought of bringing it up.
Maybe some admin/mod can check into it if there is some rulebreaking.

Also why I think this whole thing is unfair for the rest of us is because arena is to play random other people. If you keep playing in the same table with 3/4 of your friends then whats the point? you keep playing against "same" level opponents...unfair for others for sure.

if those accounts/friends dont try to king make, there would also not be any point advancement (elo is (normally) a zero sum game, arena point calculation, is based on how elo works, with a different K-factor to the elo that you see for all games) (bga changed it that in the sum you even lose elo (ignoring 100 elo as low point, for normal elo) - unsure if you also get penalised arena points if you have consecutive wins against same opponent within an arena season (for elo thats the case, and after 5th or 6th win you gain no more elo.... but wrong place for me to go off on a tangent about that...))

... so baring king making, how would that be unfair in a competitive sense?

it is a annoyance for everyone searching when tables get declined though, esp for that reason...

If I have 2-3 friends that are "easy" opponents in an arena table even if they are not kingsmaking they are still "bad" players that would get me easier win vs playing with random people that potentially play in the same or better level than me. That is the whole point of this being unfair to the rest of us.
I got declined start of game by tysonj 3 times in a row before even being able to hit Accept. Not even 1-2 seconds gone by, I was active waiting. And that is because I had blocked themilip_fish and he knew he wasn't in the same table as him so he declined to start the game playing against me and 2 other people which were possibly his other "friends".

that is clearly shitty behavior. I just wanted to point out that point wise/in competitive terms, mathematically, there shouldnt be a difference. yes wins are easier, but you also win WAY less points, and lose WAY more...

Interesting:

10 win streak in arena for a player that has 66% win ratio. Quite the achievement.
