I LOVE THE NEW INTERFACE

Post by jhargrave »

Thank you for making my favorite BGA game even better.

Speedy dealing, clear labeling of BB and SB, showing cards that you've folded, the auto-check buttons, and getting "fold" button away from "all in"!

Appreciate the work.

Great improvements to the hold'em, thank you so much, however, a couple of things.

First, I totally agree, the animations are sooo fast, the chips fling around and the hand disappears and sometimes you miss the result. Yes, the old version the animations were so slow and clunky that it slowed the pace of the game, but now they're just way too fast. We could slow them down a little, or at least pause for 5 seconds on the hand result so that we can see it. Also, pause for maybe 2 or 3 seconds between each run out card when cards up all-in. Just slow it down a little.

The other thing is the bet sizing buttons. The regular 'old' bet buttons were stated as 'raise BY x' but the new custom bet size input box is 'raise TO x'. It's confusing, especially as the old custom bet box was 'raise BY x'. It was unconventional but at least it was consistent. Now every other poker site in the world uses 'raise TO x'. For instance, if the blinds are 1/2 and you are UtG 'raise BY 4' would bet 6 chips, but 'raise TO 4' would only bet 4 chips. 'raise TO x' is the internet poker standard. So now we have the regular buttons functioning with 'raise BY x' but the custom box is 'raise TO x'. It's confusing. They should all function as 'raise TO x' to conform to universal standards, or at the very least they should all be 'raise BY x' to be consistent within the game.

I figured out that you can slow down the animations in the game settings when sitting at the table. This is much better.

I also like the 4 color deck although it could be even more colorful, or have bigger pips. The old 4 color deck on poker stars was a solid color card with huge white numerals and pips. Also, the 4 color deck card images show as blank white rectangles in the side log. No big deal to me but just to pass on the info.

Actually, I think that there is a problem when slowing down the animations. I believe that if the animations run while it's your turn, your clock runs down before you get a chance to take your action. This is not good. I think what happened was that there was an all-in hand, and the animations flipping all of the cards and then moving all of the chips were running when the server had already dealt the next hand and I happened to be UtG and the server was waiting for me to act but I was still watching the previous hand and had no way to play and stop my clock.

Telccu I just refreshed and ended up with some kinda autoplay performance until I refreshed again

i think maybe it was the animations, i set them to normal so that the game was easier to see, but maybe it was running down my clock while i couldnt play because the animations were running, i changed it back to fast and my clock seems fine

That could be my problem too!

I played really quick and time jumping still down minus 15-20 seconds sometimes.
Was nearly removed from the game.

Also the possibility to switch stack sizes from chips to bb's is unusable because all the other info stays in chips.

Current version is much better than the previous one, but it's still far away from any proper poker site experience. I'm still struggling to understand what's happening at the table, like whose turn it is and what's the overall pot (you have to count it yourself).

4 color deck is nice.
